Since the opening of Trattoria No. 10 in 1988 Dan and Lin Rosenthal, owners of Sopraffina Marketcaffè, have been fond of artist Elisabetta Franchini's soft focus pastel images of Italy's lovely landscapes, rustic streetscapes and time-worn buildings.
Pleasantly reminiscent of their Italian travels, a number of Franchini's works have been displayed in their restaurants over the years.
The Rosenthals commissioned Elisabetta to do an original pastel of her vision of what a Sopraffina might have looked like had she discovered it in an old Italian village. This work is on display in the restaurants along with other Franchini etchings and limited edition prints which are available for purchase.
